Is there a concise way to convey that truth is not according to human thought, but the essence of the source of truth?

From the writings of the Rev. Billy Graham

Q: My professor has given an assignment for students to read and report on what truth is based on sound research and resources. I chose to use the Bible. The professor rejected my resource material. I was given a resource list and told to choose a title from it; all of the books were fiction. The Lord gave me a blessing, though, when the professor said that the opening statement can be drawn from any source. Is there a concise way to convey that truth is not according to human thought, but the essence of the source of truth? – T.S.

A: People have all kinds of ideas about truth. Some people think that there is no absolute truth. Jesus taught not only that there is truth, but that He is the Truth.

Scripture tells us to study to show that we are approved to God (see 2 Timothy 2:15)—that our beliefs line up with His. We are to know God’s Word, believe it, obey it, and live by it. Great blessing and enormous comfort comes even in the midst of a conflicted world embroiled in turmoil.

There are those who are offended by absolute truth, but it doesn’t change with the blowing of the wind. “The Spirit of truth … will guide you into all truth” (John 16:13, NKJV). Jesus made the bold claim, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6, NKJV).

People question whether the Bible is really the Word of God. They put doubt in people’s minds, asking, “Did God really say that?” This is exactly what Satan did in the garden of Eden. But the truth is clear: From beginning to end, the Bible is God’s Word, inspired by the Holy Spirit who will teach us, and we can know the truth, and the truth will set us free (see John 8:32). “The entirety of [God’s] word is truth” (Psalm 119:160, NKJV).
