Stellantis NV on Monday announced the formation of an "interim executive committee" that will be responsible for running the company while a new chief executive is found by the first half of 2025.

The Stellantis board moved quickly to form the interim committee for "direction and oversight of the company" after CEO Carlos Tavares resigned over the weekend. Company leaders were unveiling the committee to key stakeholders, such as dealers, by Monday morning.

The 10-member committee will be chaired by John Elkann, who also leads the company's board of directors. The committee is supported by six additional vice presidents who will also report to Elkann. It was not immediately clear what the committee's structure meant for several of the company's top executives who were not listed, and what their responsibilities would entail going forward.

The newly-formed committee members and their responsibilities include: Xavier Chéreau, human resources and heritage; Ned Curic, engineering and technology; Arnaud Deboeuf, manufacturing and supply chain; Antonio Filosa, North and South America regions, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram; Béatrice Foucher, planning; Jean-Philippe Imparato, European region and several European brands; Doug Ostermann, finance; Maxime Picat, purchasing and supplier quality as well as several regions; and Philippe de Rovira, affiliates.

The six supporting executive vice presidents are: Bertrand Blaise, Olivier Bourges, Giorgio Fossati, Santo Ficili, Olivier François and Clara Ingen-Housz. Richard Palmer, a former finance chief for the company, will be a "special adviser" to Elkann and also serve as a "sounding board for the leadership team," the company said.
