Auto review: 2025 Infiniti QX80 inspires luxury sticker shock

When Infiniti entered Grasso’s Garage in the past, we were excited that the brand’s models exceeded expectations while still maintaining an appropriate price point. With traces of Nissan design are still evident in the 2025 Infiniti QX80 Autograph, we recognized nicely apportioned accouterments. But brace yourself, this one is going to hit the wallet hard. Our tester of the brand’s flagship SUV came with a base price of $112,590!

If Grasso’s Garage awarded a prize for sticker inflation, Infiniti would win it in a walk, as our 2022 QX80 tester carried a $84,000 base price. What explains the $30K price hike over three years? The 2025 luxury seven-seater SUV is certainly very nice and has seen a significant overhaul in terms of aesthetics, comfort and mechanics. A new 450-horsepower twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 pairs nicely with a nine-speed automatic transmission. While quieter than the past generation, the eight-cylinder will certainly be missed, while we do recognize more power than ever.

Riding on monster 22-inch wheels, the Autograph's standard features have a large array of nicely paired upgrades, including Google maps, easy to use navigation, tons of apps and even a center console refrigerator/cooler.

Infiniti has gained a healthy share of the consumer market cornered with vehicles know for superior comfort and great reliability, but entering the room with a six-figure flagship is a bold move. With a slew of other monster luxury SUVs in this market, this price point puts them in contention with BMW, Mercedes and Cadillac. How this plays out for Nissan’s upscale brand remains to be seen, but hopefully their clientele will remain loyal to the brand and keep this new generation afloat.
