NEW YORK — Following the Jets’ third consecutive loss, this time to the rival Bills, Aaron Rodgers was not in a good mood during his postgame press conference.

However, Rodgers was smiling and in much better spirits after he received a call from Davante Adams following the game when the star receiver told him they would be teammates again.

During his weekly appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Rodgers said Adams told him late last night he was being traded from the Raiders to the Jets for a conditional third-round pick.

Adams took a red-eye flight into New Jersey early Tuesday morning after the deal was in place Monday night. He then completed his physical to finalize the trade.

“Obviously very excited,” Rodgers said. “Love Tae, he’s a phenomenal player and a dear friend.

“It was a crappy day yesterday, obviously. We had a real good chance to get to 3-3 and win a home game. Kind of gave that game away. I was pissed driving home through traffic. Had a couple of messages, but I wasn’t in the mood to talk to anybody. Tae had called me and texted me and I finally called him back. So about 12:30 [a.m.] 12:45.”

Rodgers and Adams played together in Green Bay for eight seasons. During that time, Adams caught 669 passes for 8,121 yards and 73 touchdowns. Adams was also selected to play in five Pro Bowls and two first-team All-Pro teams.

From 2018-2021, as a duo, Rodgers and Adams ranked first in the NFL in receptions (425), receiving yards (5,257) and receiving touchdowns (47).

In 2022, Adams, 31, was acquired in a trade with the Raiders for first and second-round draft picks. He wanted to come to Las Vegas to team up with Derek Carr, whom he played with in college at Fresno State. However, the two only played together for one year after the Raiders released Carr following the 2022 season.

Adams’ two-plus seasons in Las Vegas came to a tumultuous end after he fell out of favor with coach Antonio Pierce, and he eventually requested a trade. The Jets then became his No. 1 choice because of his previous relationship with Rodgers.

The Jets are hoping Adams can create a spark to get their 2-4 team going forward, not only competing for a playoff spot for the first time since 2010 but possibly contending for a Super Bowl.

Gang Green lost a pivotal game against division-leading Buffalo on "Monday Night Football," which dropped the team two games back in the AFC East.

“Obviously bittersweet after what happened last night,” Rodgers said. “It’s exciting, Tae and I have done a lot of great things. He has made me look good a lot of times. So, I’m really excited about it, I think it is exciting for our team. We definitely got better today thanks to Joe [Douglas] making it happen, Woody [Johnson] and Chris [Johnson] pulling the trigger. Obviously, everyone was pissed about last night, but we know there’s a lot of season left and now it’s go-time.”
