Report: Florida basketball assistant Taurean Green accused of sexual assault

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida assistant coach Taurean Green is the target of a sexual assault complaint filed by an athletics department employee, according to an ESPN report.
The accuser said Green, the Gators’ point guard of back-to-back national champions in 2006-07, arranged to meet her in March 2024 an on-campus facility. Once there, Green, the report states, “kissed her and tried to put his hand down her pants.”
Green attempted again when she denied his advances, leading her to then quickly leave the building.
The complaint comes amid an ongoing Title IX investigation into head coach Todd Golden. A copy of the notice of the complaint filed Sept. 27 alleged Golden stalked, cyberstalked, sexually harassed and sexually exploited multiple women, including UF students.
ESPN reported that the accuser came forward after Title IX investigators on the Golden case asked to interview her regarding the coach’s interactions with female athletes. Because of concerns of a pattern of behavior in Golden’s program, ESPN reported Green’s accuser later revealed her allegations in mid-December to Florida deputy athletics director Amy Meyers Hass, who oversees Title IX Compliance.
UF named Hass, who had served as the school’s general counsel, as deputy athletic director and senior women’s administrator when Lynda Tealer joined the NCAA in May..
Given Green’s status, the woman told ESPN she did not report the alleged incident at the time.
Green joined Golden’s staff in 2022 as director of player development after he worked under his former coach Billy Donovan with the Chicago Bulls in ’21. Golden promoted Green to assistant coach prior to this season.
Green, 38, was the No. 52 pick in the 2007 NBA draft by the Portland Trail Blazers, but other than a couple of brief stints he spent most of his time playing professionally overseas.
