The official presidential and vice presidential portraits of Donald Trump and JD Vance were released Thursday, just days ahead of their inauguration.

Trump’s portrait bears a notable resemblance to his mugshot from August 2023 at Fulton County Jail in Georgia, with the president-elect glaring at the camera.

Vance, meanwhile, appears to have a small smile on his face while his arms are crossed. Both men are pictured wearing dark blue suits and blue ties.

“In just four days, Donald J. Trump will be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States and JD Vance as the 50th Vice President of the United States — and their official portraits are here,” Trump’s transition team wrote Thursday in a press release.

The new photo is notably different from Trump’s portrait from his first term, where he was pictured with a wide smile. The official portraits of Trump and then-Vice President Mike Pence were not released until October 2017, nine months after they were inaugurated. Any reason for the delay was never provided by the White House.

Official portraits of the president and vice president are traditionally hung in federal buildings and U.S. embassies worldwide. The photos of Trump and Vance will also be for sale.

Trump, 78, and Vance, 40, will be sworn in Monday. Trump will become just the second president in American history to serve two nonconsecutive terms, following Grover Cleveland in the late 1800s. Cleveland won the 1884 and 1892 presidential elections but lost to Benjamin Harrison in 1888.

Vance will be the third-youngest vice president in American history, behind John Breckinridge and Richard Nixon.
