Trump to hold rally in Allentown, Pa., at PPL Center a week before election

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Donald Trump will hold a rally in Allentown one week before Election Day.
According to a campaign advisory, Trump is expected to take the stage at the Allentown PPL Center at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Doors open at 2 p.m. Attendees can register on Trump’s campaign website.
The visit comes days after Democratic VP pick Tim Walz appears in Allentown for a campaign stop — he is landing at the Lehigh Valley International Airport on Friday at 2:30 p.m. and will make a visit to an undisclosed location in the city.
Kamala Harris will also be in Pennsylvania this week; according to her campaign, she will hold an event in Philadelphia on Sunday.
Pennsylvania is considered perhaps the most important swing state with its 19 electoral votes. According to an analysis by the Philadelphia Inquirer, campaigns for Kamala Harris and Donald Trump have poured more than $538 million into advertising to reach Pennsylvania voters — the most of any swing state. Over one million Pennsylvania voters have already cast their ballot by mail or at their county election office, according to the Pennsylvania department of state.
The margins of the 2016 and ’20 elections were extremely thin in Pennsylvania, and the Commonwealth was decisive both times. Trump won by just 0.72%, or 44,000 votes, in 2016, and Biden fared only slightly better with a 1.17% margin of victory, or 80,000 votes, in 2020.
Tuesday will be Trump’s second visit to Allentown this election cycle. He was most recently in Lehigh County in April for a campaign rally in Schnecksville, where he spoke for an hour and touched on the Israel-Hamas war, immigration, inflation and his unproven claims that he lost the 2020 election because of voter fraud. He also held a rally in Reading at the Santander Arena earlier this month.
Polls predict a tight race in Pennsylvania. According to polling averages from The Hill, Trump has a 0.2% edge over Harris, according to 88 polls.
Election Day is Nov 5. The last day to request a mail-in ballot is Oct 29, and all ballots must be returned by 8 p.m. on election day.
