This impressive dessert is perfect for any celebration

3 tablespoons (3/4 ounce) cornstarch

2 cups whole milk

1/4 teaspoon table salt

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into 4 pieces and chilled

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 cup heavy cream, chilled

 

For the crepes:

1 1/2 cups (7 1/2 ounces) all-purpose flour

1/3 cup (2 1/2 ounces) sugar

1/2 teaspoon table salt
