How can Jesus be crowned when no kingdom or dynasty lasts very long?

on

From the writings of the Rev. Billy Graham

Q: I’m a Christian, but I don’t share the same beliefs as many of my Christian friends who say Jesus is returning to Earth someday as a king. I doubt that, first because the world has moved away from royal thrones – even George Washington understood that kingship was outdated. Another reason is because the world did not accept Jesus the first time, so there’s no chance for the world to change that dramatically and accept him the second time. History shows that no kingdom or dynasty lasts very long. – C.K.

A: When Jesus comes back, He is coming not as a Nazarene carpenter riding on a donkey. He is coming in divine majesty and power and glory. He is coming as the Prince of Peace, the King of kings, and bringing with Him thousands of His angel-warriors with Him; the mightiest army the universe has ever known. And though the Antichrist will declare war on Him, the victory will be His. Emerging triumphant from the smoke of that last terrible, awful war will be the Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ.

When Jesus comes back the world will know safety and security. George Washington’s favorite verse of Scripture was Micah 4:4, he quoted it constantly: “Everyone will sit under their own vine and under their own fig tree, and no one will make them afraid, for the Lord Almighty has spoken” (NIV).

During Christ’s reign, political confusion will be turned to order and harmony, social injustices will be abolished, and moral corruption will be replaced by integrity. For the first time in history, the whole world will know what it’s like to live in a society governed by God’s principles. Man’s dream for global harmony will be realized! Believe it! For the Almighty has spoken.
