ORLANDO, Fla. — Tens of thousands of Central Floridians were still waiting to have their power restored Saturday — two days after Hurricane Milton ripped through the region

Local utilities promised most customers would get their lights turned back on this weekend.

PowerOutage.us was reporting at 1:30 p.m. that 77,355 customers of various utility providers were still without power in Orange, Lake, Osceola and Seminole counties. The site collects data from utilities nationwide.

In Orange, 26,116 remained without power, according to the site. That breaks down to 24,185 customers of Duke Energy and 1,931 of the Orlando Utilities Commission.

In Lake, 31,177 were still waiting for electricity. That consists of five with Clay Electric Cooperative, 20,401 with Duke, 2,555 with Leesburg Electric and 8,216 with SECO Energy, according to the website.

In Osceola, the site reports 2,370 without power. That breaks down to 2,336 for Duke, eight with the Kissimmee Utility Authority and 26 with OUC.

And in Seminole, 17,692 were still waiting for their lights and air conditioning to come back on. That consists of 12,022 for Duke and 5,670 for Florida Power & Light, according to the site.

On Friday, the website reported that nearly 200,000 of the more than 1.3 million total utility customers in Orange, Lake, Osceola and Seminole counties were still without electricity.
