'Luckiest dog in the world' survives arrow through back

REGINA, Saskatchewan (UPI) -- A dog in Canada is in recovery after narrowly surviving being shot with an arrow.
An animal rescue organization in Regina, Saskatchewan, called CC RezQs Regina, shared a graphic photo of the dog with an arrow protruding from both sides of its back on Facebook, and asked if anyone would be willing to adopt the wounded animal.
"Arrow is considered the luckiest dog in the world!" a representative of the group wrote on Facebook. The arrow missed her spinal cord by millimeters! Vet team was able to clean a lot of hair and 'gunk' out of the large wound and run a drain all the way through from the entry wound to the exit wound.
The female dog, which staff from the rescue group nicknamed "Arrow," may also require surgery to remove pieces of broken vertebrae, but CC RezQs Regina shared a photo of her in recovery.
"She's doing really really well! She's very sore, we gave her more pain meds as her back end is, clearly, very sore," they wrote. She's moving around a bit in her kennel. Tried a short walk, but she doesn't like leashes and she's not interested in walking very far at this moment.
CC RezQs Regina was able to find a foster home for Arrow and is seeking donations for her veterinary bills.
