Overweight pets are often hard to get on a weight loss plan that works. While humans have lots of different weight loss programs and plans to choose from, there isn't exactly that same type of choice for your cat. Typically it is hard to even find one, or anything that gives you proven weight loss for you cat. We have discovered some of the best plans that give your cat a good chance at being at a healthy weight again. Cats gain weight much easier than dogs, besides genetics, cats consistently sleep a lot more. While there probably isn't much you can do to keep them up, you do have a few other options.

Changing and limiting cat food is your best choice to lowering your cat's weight. Some cat foods are much fattier than others; typically the fattier foods are the wet canned foods. Limiting or completely removing them from your cat's diet will allow them to loose weight very quickly. However if you are not feeding your cat this type of food and you have limited your cats food intake the next step is simple exercising your cat.

Exercising a cat isn't as straight forward as a dog or other animal, especially if they are older. However purchasing some toys and playing with your cat is highly recommended. If your cat tends to sleep during the day, or while your not around and awake while you are home, try to get the cat on the same schedule as you. Waking your cat up when you leave the house is a good start to getting them awake for a few more hours. Adding an additional cat and/or toys can help also. You can find different toys that will work, however ones that can move on there own will do wonders for your cats health when your not home. But the most important thing to a cat's weight loss is just having them more active, no matter how you do it!
