CHICAGO — The NHL will host a free outdoor fan festival before the start of the Winter Classic between the Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues on Dec. 31.
The “NHL PreGame” event will take place between 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Cubs parking lot at 1126 W. Grace St. There will be giveaways, food and the Stanley Cup will be on display and available for photos with fans.
The festival also will include “Puck Drop,” an AI photo opportunity that digitally places fans at center ice for a puck drop, as well as puck shooting, stickhandling and other skill tests. Hawks mascot Tommy Hawk will also make an appearance.
The Winter Classic, making its second visit to Wrigley Field in the outdoor series’ history, will be broadcast on TNT and Max, and simulcast on truTV in the U.S. at 4 p.m.
