Bruce Cassidy won his 400th game as an NHL coach in the Golden Knights’ 3-2 win over the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre on Thursday.

Cassidy, in his third season with the Knights, became the eighth active coach to reach the milestone. He won his 108th game with the Knights.

Goaltender Ilya Samsonov made 38 saves, and center Jack Eichel scored as the Knights (12-6-2) bounced back after losing, 3-0, to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday.

Golden Knights defenseman Alex Pietrangelo is day-to-day with an upper-body injury and did not play Thursday.

Pietrangelo was one of three Knights defensemen out of the lineup with an injury. Nic Hague is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury, while Ben Hutton is week-to-week with an upper-body injury.

Pietrangelo, 34, is off to a strong start with 14 points in 19 games.

Brett Howden and Pavel Dorofeyev added goals for the Knights.

Adam Gaudette and Drake Batherson scored for the Senators (8-10-1).
