T.J. Watt feels 'pretty good' and will play, but Steelers won't have George Pickens again vs. Ravens

PITTSBURGH — A week of injury watch wound down Thursday at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on the South Side, and the Steelers didn't exactly get everything on their Christmas list.
But right at the top is T.J. Watt, and the star outside linebacker, who leads the team with 11 1/2 sacks, finished practice feeling confident in his chances to play Saturday against the Ravens in Baltimore. The Steelers then took him off the injury report after listing him as a full participant in practice Thursday.
"We'll see Saturday," Watt said. "I feel pretty good this week."
Watt injured his left ankle in Sunday's loss to the Eagles and was held out of practice Tuesday before being limited Wednesday. He acknowledged the Steelers held a walkthrough in lieu of practice Tuesday and Wednesday, given the short week to prepare for the road trip to Baltimore, so he didn't do too much to push it over the past few days.
As for whether there's concern about being less than his usual self or making the injury worse, Watt responded, "A little bit of both."
"But at this point in the year, everybody's dealing with stuff," Watt said. "If I can go, I'll go."
Like in 2023, Watt hasn't missed a game yet this season. The only time he hasn't played since the start of last year was the first-round playoff loss to the Bills after he sustained a knee injury in Week 18 in Baltimore.
Watt has played 88% of the snaps so far this season, which would tie his career high from 2020. Even if he's not 100%, it sounds as if he just wants to be on the field in some capacity against the Ravens.
"I'm trying to be out there as much as I possibly," Watt said when asked if he could be on a limited snap count. "Obviously, I wouldn't want to do that, but if that's the only thing I can do, I'm gonna take what I can get."
Leading receiver George Pickens still hasn't practiced fully or played since a Dec. 5 hamstring injury while doing extra work after practice. He's out again after not practicing all week, as is backup quarterback Justin Fields, who injured his abdomen on a big hit by Eagles safety Reed Blankenship. Fields didn't practice all week.
There's only slightly more optimism for strong safety DeShon Elliott (hamstring). Elliott, who didn't play in Philadelphia, was listed as a limited participant Thursday but has been categorized as doubtful to suit up in Baltimore.
Starting cornerback Donte Jackson (back) and defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi (groin) are questionable. Jackson, who got hurt in the last game, might be on the wrong side of questionable, as the only practice he had this week was Thursday in a limited capacity. Ogunjobi was limited on all three days after missing the Eagles game.
If Jackson can't play, James Pierre likely would start opposite Joey Porter Jr., but Cory Trice Jr. could be active for the first time since Week 3.
