Dolphins receiver Grant Dubose hospitalized by helmet-to-helmet hit

A helmet-to-helmet hit sent Miami Dolphins receiver Grant Dubose to a local Houston hospital.
Dubose, a second-year receiver the Dolphins claimed earlier this season off the waiver wire after Green Bay released the Charlotte standout, collided with Houston Texans safety Callen Bullock trying to bring in a low pass from Tua Tagovailoa.
Dubose, who this week made his return from a shoulder injury that got him placed on injured reserve, laid on the NRG Stadium turf for 12 minutes while a medical team cut his jersey off, placed a brace around his neck, placed electronic monitoring medical equipment on his chest, and strapped him to a stretcher.
While a team of EMTs and trainers placed Dubose on the stretcher his entire team huddled around a circle praying.
At this point it’s unclear what hospital Dubose was taken to, and what the prognosis is.
Dubose was in Sunday’s game because of a right knee injury Jaylen Waddle suffered in the first quarter, which opened the window for Dubose to play offense in his first NFL game since week two, when he initially suffered his shoulder injury.
With Waddle and Dubose gone from the game the Dolphins were forced to use River Cracraft as the receiver paired with Tyreek Hill and rookie Malik Washington.
Miami also leaned on the team’s two back, and two tight end sets when the game resumed.
