GREG COTE’S NFL WEEK 4 THURSDAY PICK

COWBOYS (1-2) at GIANTS (1-2)

Line: DAL by 6.

Cote’s pick: DAL, 27-20.

TV: 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Prime Video.

King Sport uncorks Week 4 with a marquee matchup but also a lopsided one based on recent series history. Dallas has beaten NYG in six straight and 13 of past 14, with last year’s sweep by a combined 89-17. And Dak Prescott, 32-8 vs. the NFC East, has won 12 consecutive starts against the Giants, fourth-longest QB streak vs. one opponent after Hall of Famers Bob Griese (17 straight wins vs. Bills in 1968-79), Steve Young (13 vs. Rams in 1987-98) and Tom Brady (13 vs. Bills in 2003-10). Cowboys also are on an 8-1 run over Biggies in prime-time games. Having said all that, NYG tempts getting six points. Dallas has issues. It can’t run or stop the run, and (however improbably) is playing a road game on three days’ rest for first time in club history. Giants rookie WR Malik Nabers, off to a great start, has helped Daniel Jones look almost OK at times, and Devin Singletary could make his fantasy owners smile against that sloppy Boys run D. Still, I like desperate Dallas, off two straight losses, as a touchdown better. The pass rush, AWOL the past two games, should get cranking and bother Jones, and CeeDee Lamb is due a breakout game. Given Jerry Jones’ desperation and the series domination, Mike McCarthy might not make the plane ride home if Cowboys lose this one.
