Pistons' Isaiah Stewart suspended and fined after flagrant 2 foul vs. Pacers

DETROIT — The NBA has suspended Detroit Pistons center Isaiah Stewart for one game after he received his sixth flagrant foul point of the season, the league announced Friday morning. Stewart will serve his suspension Friday night, when the Pistons take on the Dallas Mavericks at Little Caesars Arena.
Stewart was assigned a flagrant 2 foul for an excessive push on Indiana Pacers big man Thomas Bryant on Wednesday night. The incident took place at the 8:45 mark of the second quarter, which resulted in an automatic ejection. In addition to his suspension, the league also fined Stewart $50,000 for making inappropriate and objectionable gestures following his ejection.
The Pistons fell to the Pacers, 133-119, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
"Just a lot of talk. A lot of words. I slipped up, fell for the trap, and I let my teammates down," Steward said Wednesday night. "I have to be better at not letting those words allow me to affect the team. I know my squad could have used me out there."
In 43 games this season, Stewart has averaged 5.4 points and 5.8 rebounds and is shooting 52.2% from the field. He is currently tied with Orlando Magic's Jonathan Isaac for the most blocks among bench players, averaging 1.3 per game.
