PHILADELPHIA — Magic coach Jamahl Mosley made it clear his team didn’t play up to its standard Tuesday night in a 15-point loss against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

So when Orlando took the court inside Wells Fargo Center less than 24 hours later in Philadelphia, Mosley’s group looked more like itself.

The Magic scored 22 points off of 14 Sixers turnovers, totaled 39 bench points and racked up 64 points in the paint during the 106-102 road victory.

A pair of free throws by Franz Wagner (35 points) put the Magic ahead by two possessions with 3.1 seconds left, securing Orlando’s seventh road win of the season.

Wednesday’s game was the second night of a back-to-back for both sides. Philadelphia defeated the Hornets on the road the night prior. That led to star duo Joel Embiid (left knee injury management) and Paul George (left knee injury recovery) missing the matchup with the Magic.

Orlando (17-8) will remain in Philadelphia and will face the 76ers (5-16) again Friday night when the Magic wrap up a five-game road trip in the Northeast.

Starting 5

Goga Bitadze went through his pre-game routine before he was upgraded from questionable to available after missing Tuesday’s game in New York due to a right ankle sprain.

Bitadze started alongside Jalen Suggs, Caldwell-Pope, Franz Wagner and Wendell Carter Jr. against the Sixers.

Bitadze’s impact was felt immediately around the rim for Orlando. He tipped the ball that led to an offensive rebound in the team’s first possession and soon after recorded his first block.

The 6-11 center racked up six points, six rebounds and one block in 21 minutes.

Wagner continued to do what he does best — driving into the paint for calculated baskets near the hoop — for the Magic when he led all scorers. It was his second straight with 30-plus points and seventh game this season.

It marked the second streak of eight straight games for Wagner with 20-plus points, the longest such streaks of his career. He also did it Nov. 4-18.

Suggs (16 points) bounced back following a slow night from distance when he scored his first 12 all on 3-pointers. He finished 4 of 8 from distance after going 0 of 8 from 3 Tuesday.

Isaac’s impact

Jonathan Isaac (14 points) finished in double figures for the first time in five games when he had success in the paint on both ends.

Isaac added two blocks and two steals with four rebounds.

But he exited the game at the 10:38 mark of the fourth quarter after he was seen grabbing the back of his right leg. After returning from the locker room, Isaac was ruled questionable with a right leg cramp.

Ultimately, he didn’t return.

Rookie watch

Tristan da Silva remained in the rotation again after starting Tuesday night in place of Bitadze.

Joining Isaac, Anthony Black, and Moe Wagner off the bench, the No. 18 pick grabbed four rebounds to go with five points.
