The Miami Heat’s Thursday night exhibition against the Atlanta Hawks at Kaseya Center has been postponed due to Hurricane Milton. The game has been rescheduled for 7:30 p.m. Oct. 16.

The Heat announced Tuesday that all tickets for the originally scheduled date will be honored for the rescheduled date.

According to the Heat, refunds will be available at the point of purchase for any fans unable to attend the rescheduled date.

The rescheduling will create an unusually busy week for the Heat, who now have home exhibitions next week on Sunday (3:30 p.m. vs. New Orleans Pelicans), Tuesday (7:30 p.m. vs. San Antonio Spurs) and Wednesday (the rescheduled 7:30 p.m. game vs. Atlanta), as well as a Friday 8 p.m. road exhibition against the Memphis Grizzlies.

The compact schedule is eased by the Heat carrying the NBA offseason maximum of 21 players, required to cut to no more than 18 by Oct. 21.

Coach Erik Spoelstra has stressed the importance of getting minutes for all his players, including the roster long shots who likely will next be sent to the team’s G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce. Next week now likely will provide ample such opportunity.

The Heat open their regular season Oct. 23 against the visiting Orlando Magic.
