CHICAGO — The Chicago Bulls selected Matas Buzelis with the No. 11 pick in the 2024 NBA draft on Wednesday night.

Buzelis, 19, is a 6-foot-9 forward currently playing in the developmental G Leauge. He grew up in Hinsdale, the son of parents who both played basketball professionally in Lithuania before emigrating to the United States. He played briefly at Hinsdale Central before attending high schools in New Hampshire and Kansas.

The Atlanta Hawks selected Zaccharie Risacher with the No. 1 pick. The Bulls stayed put in the draft order despite reports they were considering a variety of trades to move their position.

The Bulls already began shaking up their roster by trading Alex Caruso to the Oklahoma City Thunder for guard Josh Giddey last week.

This will continue to be a summer of uncertainty for the team after the front office pledged change in the wake of two consecutive seasons without a playoff berth.

The Bulls are continuing re-signing negotiations with DeMar DeRozan and Patrick Williams — and could continue to shop Zach LaVine, who missed most of last season with a foot injury.
