Jonathan Loáisiga, Yankees agree on a one-year deal: reports

NEW YORK — Right-hander Jonathan Loáisiga and the Yankees have agreed on a one-year contract, according to reports. The deal includes a team option for the 2026 season.
The 30-year-old, who is recovering from season-ending elbow surgery, is expected to be ready to pitch in late April.
When healthy, Loáisiga featured electric stuff out of the Yankees’ bullpen. The Yankees’ however, haven’t gotten much out of the reliever in the past two seasons.
He was limited to just three games in 2024 while dealing with forearm and elbow injuries. The season-ending diagnosis in 2024 was “really frustrating” for Loáisiga, who the team intended to use in a multi-inning role that would come with more rest, similar to what the Bombers did with Michael King in 2023.
In 2023, injuries limited Loáisiga to just 17 games with the Yankees.
The righty owns a 3.44 ERA in 219.2 career innings in seven seasons with the Yankees.
