Ex-Yankees closer Clay Holmes reaches three-year contract with Mets: report

NEW YORK — Clay Holmes is headed to the Mets — reportedly with a new job.
The former Yankees closer has reached a three-year, $38 million deal with the Mets, according to reports.
Holmes is expected to become a starting pitcher in Queens, according to ESPN.
Last season with the Yankees, Holmes went 3-5 with a 3.14 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 30 saves over 67 appearances.
