KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One of Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr.’s passions is collecting baseball cards, and he’s always on the hunt for a rarity.

Ahead of his upcoming wedding, Witt had some one-of-a-kind cards made for some of his teammates as he invited them to be groomsmen. Sports Card Investor said the cards were “created by Topps and encapsulated by PSA.”

PSA is the Professional Sports Authenticator, which provides grades for the quality of a baseball card.

Pullwax and PSA shared a video of the card outfielder MJ Melendez received from Witt.

The back of the cards include some info on Witt and a special message.

“I couldn’t think of a better way to send groomsman invitations than by using custom baseball cards. It would be an honor for you to be by my side on my wedding day. It wouldn’t feel right without you there. Consider this the official invite!

— B Witter”

Witt and fiancée, Maggie Black, are set to be married on Dec. 14 in Dallas.
