BALTIMORE -- Fast food restaurant chain Wendy’s is launching a new collaboration that might sound to Marylanders like something it’s not. But fans of “SpongeBob SquarePants” are likely ready, ready, ready for it.

The new Krabby Patty, to mark the 25th anniversary of the animated TV series, is a quarter-pound burger with two slices of American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion and a secret sauce on a toasted bun.

The “Kollab” menu celebration is available for a limited time and also includes a Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty — pineapple-mango purée swirled into a vanilla Frosty, Wendy’s iconic shake.

For “SpongeBob” fans, the Krabby Patty is a well-known part of the series, sold by the Krusty Krab restaurant in the city of Bikini Bottom and appears to be made of some underwater ingredients like kelp or seaweed, though the recipe is kept secret.

In Maryland, several restaurants offer crabby patties on their menus — most often as a burger topped with crab dip or as a miniature crabcake.

Wendy’s Krabby Patty Kollab Burger is $5.89 on the restaurant’s app. The meal version, including fries and the Frosty, is $10.69.
