Rare albino kitten 'Moonbeam' up for adoption in Los Angeles

(UPI) A rare and unusual albino kitten at an animal shelter in California is up for adoption and seeking a permanent home.
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles shared a photo of Moonbeam the 2-month-old albino kitten born with a lack of pigmentation.
Moonbeam's red-tinted eyes and pale pink skin make it a unique pet as albinos make up only 2 percent of the feline population.
While Moonbeam is the only albino kitten at the shelter, spcaLA hopes the rare feline will draw attention to other cats and kittens in need of a home.
"Little Moonbeam reminds people that there are many, many cats and kittens waiting for adoption, and if you can't adopt, please donate to their care," spcaLA President, Madeline Bernstein, said.
