At Grasso’s Garage, Volvo, with its extensive range of appropriately priced luxury vehicles, consistently stands out, meeting nearly every consumer's desires and requirements. Yet, as Volvo has not delivered the XC40 to Grasso's Garage, there is a gap in the review lineup.

Genesis has astutely stepped in to fill this void, a move that promises to be quite beneficial. I give you the 2024 Genesis GV70 Sport Prestige AWD. What a stunning SUV! Our tester was painted in Capri Blue, definitely one of our preferred shades of deep blue. The GV70, building on the success of the Genesis brand, exudes luxury with its well-balanced front fascia and sleek body lines, reminiscent of the Porsche Macan.

On our week-long road test, we noticed an array of safety features and enjoyed the panoramic sunroof, leather surfaces and the sporty, rich red interior. Options included 21-inch wheels, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, three-zone climate, carbon fiber trim and Lexicon Premium Audio. Did I mention the Genesis Experience? It includes three year/36,000-mile complimentary maintenance with valet, Map Care and complimentary connected services for no additional expense.

For 2024, the Genesis GV70 is easily our vote for compact luxury SUV of the year, with its elegance, appearance and price dominating the category with flying colors. As Hyundai’s upscale brand, Genesis has had a slow start in the market because of the hurdles of pricing and delivery. More recently, however, the company has come out with clean and green vehicles, and its realistic price points have helped lure new buyers away from upscale luxury brands like Mercedes and BMW.

As with the recently reviewed Cadillac XT4, which was our subcompact Luxury SUV favorite, the Genesis GV70 is rightly sized, rightly priced, and is what consumers are looking for. I’m confident you will like them as much as I do.
