Stop for orange juice leads N.C. woman to $250,000 lottery prize

(UPI) A North Carolina woman made a stop for orange juice and ended up winning $250,000 from a scratch-off lottery ticket.
Kelly Spahr of Kernersville told North Carolina Education Lottery officials she stopped at the Quality Mart on Piney Grove Road in Kernersville to buy some orange juice, and while there some lottery tickets caught her eye.
"When I was at the gas station I saw that there were new tickets out so I decided to try them," Spahr recalled. The ticket has a folding part on it which is what sold me on it.
The ticket, a $20 Merry Multiplier scratch-off, turned out to be a $250,000 top prize winner.
"It's a life-changing amount of money for us," she said. It really helps us out a lot.
She said the money will be of great help to her family.
"This just opened up some more doors for us," she said.
