Man fined after Bears-Packers bet leads to stunning wife

MAYVILLE, Wis. (UPI) -- The Wisconsin man who used a stun gun on his wife outside a bar as the culmination of a bet on a Bears-Packers game has been fined $250.
John Grant, who was arrested Nov. 4 after using a Taser on his wife, Nicole, outside a Mayville bar, accepted a plea deal Jan. 9 and was fined $250 for disorderly conduct, WISN-TV, Milwaukee, reported Monday.
John Grant, a Chicago Bears fan, and Nicole Grant, a Green Bay Packers fan, said they always have a bet when their preferred teams play one another, and the Nov. 4 bet involved the loser agreeing to be shot with a stun gun after the game.
"We made the bet, but I was fully expecting to get Tased that night. I did not believe Chicago would come into Lambeau and win," John Grant said.
However, the Bears came out victorious and Nicole Grant was the one who faced the stun gun that night.
"We went outside and proceeded to pay off the bet, I Tased her in the behind and the bet was for three seconds. The first Tasing, she jumped. I mean right immediately," John Grant said.
The couple said it was an unrelated argument about two hours after the stun gun incident that led to police being called. Nicole Grant said she called police because John wouldn't let her into their truck.
"I told them, 'You know, my husband's not letting me in the truck. I'm just trying to get in. That's all I'm asking," Nicole Grant said.
Nicole Grant said she told officers about the stun gun bet and that led to John being arrested for possession of an electronic weapon, a felony in Wisconsin for someone without a conceal-and-carry permit.
The couple said their bet on the Dec. 29 Bears-Packers game, which Green Bay won, was much tamer.
"This last Bears-Packers game, Dec. 29, he lost. So next year the two Bears-Packers games, he has to wear a Packers jersey," Nicole Grant said.
