I looked and saw a sea
roofed over with rainbows,
In the midst of each
two lovers met and departed;
Then the sky was full of faces
with gold glories behind them.

About Ezra Pound
Ezra Pound was born in Idaho on Oct. 30, 1885. One of the founding members of the imagist movement in the early 20th century, his collections of poetry include "Homage to Sextus Propertius" (1934) and "The Pisan Cantos" (1948), for which he was awarded the Bollingen Prize from the Library of Congress. He died in Venice, Italy, in 1972.
