Confuse-a-Cat - Monty Python's Flying Circus
Published in Jokes
“Confuse-a-Cat” features Michael Palin and Terry Jones as an anxious couple concerned for their cat’s well-being. Troubled that their cat just “sits out all day on the lawn,” they call the vet (Graham Chapman) for an urgent house visit. The vet, praises the couple for calling him just in the “nick of time” as their cat’s “physical inertia” and “absence of interest in its ambience,” shows it is clearly “in a rut” and explains that the only cure is to confuse it. Not being qualified to confuse cats himself the vet recommends calling “Confuse-a-Cat Limited” an organization run with military precision by the General (John Cleese) who, with his crack team of “Confusers,” attempts to shake the desperate couples’ cat out of it’s complacency with a show like no other.
“Confuse- a-Cat” premiered on 16 November 1969 in Series 1, Episode 5 of “Monty Python’s Flying Circus”.
