Water Sign Trine of Hope

Holiday Mathis on

Fairness is a fragile idea -- idealized and rarely realized. One wonders if humans are the only ones who hunger for symmetry, balance and justice that the world does not adhere to and, in fact, shrugs at. But here we are, doing our part. Mars and Neptune offer a water trine of hope as we work, love, fight, persist, fall down and get back up.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). You will lift others, help them and be a good influence on them. There's really no way to plan it. There's no amount of working things out ahead of time that will help. You'll recognize and make the most of opportunities as they come.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). However much you enjoy the company of certain people, being around them can still seem like work. Why do you think this is? If you're willing to look for it, there's a nugget of self-knowledge at the heart of this phenomenon.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Just because something breaks doesn't mean it's no longer useful, though it may take time and creativity to work out exactly what the usefulness is. When you're not sure how to proceed, wait. No decision can be the best decision.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). Everyday problems intrigue you, though you're not interested in solving them the ordinary way. You'll flex your creativity, cleverness and resourcefulness. Your playful spirit is irresistible.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Celebrate your healing. It's wonderful to have things in excellent working order. To appreciate whatever stage you're in is to welcome greater vitality. Going easy with gentle challenges is the way.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). What starts as a mere curiosity becomes a full-blown mission. You'll collect clues today. Each piece will feel like part of a larger puzzle, drawing you deeper. By the end, you might discover more than you were looking for.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). When beautifully strange things happen to you, it feels symbolic -- something mysterious crossing your path to remind you that life is full of the unexpected, even in the mundane. You pause and take notice, and life rewards your attention.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Time to yourself feels like a luxury now, and you long for the space to work on your terms, to exist without the weight of obligations. That longing is valid, and it's something you deserve to prioritize. A more formal approach to scheduling will help.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You'll dream big and then focus your effort on one plausible section of the vision. The more realistic the goal, the greater chance you have of creating it. Accrue small successes. They will be the building blocks of a big one.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Because you're so strategic with your efforts and intently focused on one quantifiable thing at a time, you'll see the evidence of your major progress toward a goal you've had for years.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You're self-aware and honest, and that's a huge strength. You're not afraid to name what feels off or what you need to change, which is the first step toward easing that heaviness. You'll be lighter tomorrow for the work you do today.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). It may feel like you are performing, or like pretending is necessary to make the social works go smoothly. It may even be part of your job. Approach with the professionalism of an actor or comedian and "commit to the bit."

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Jan. 12). The year brings a shimmering understanding of your purpose and a compelling way to view your history. There's a smoothness to your days that allows you to develop new skills and pursue meaningful work. More highlights: You'll meet the people who can best help and celebrate you. Your competitive spirit is strong, and your excellence will net you long-awaited victory. Aquarius and Pisces adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 7, 12, 14, 29 and 3.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Howard Stern is among the world's highest-paid radio hosts and has topped the list with his arrangement with SiriusXM. The sign of moguls, Capricorns are known for career longevity and uncanny business sense. Stern's transition from traditional radio to the digital era with his exclusive deal with SiriusXM exemplifies Capricorn's penchant for long-term vision and adaptation. His natal Uranus, the planet of surprises, is in Leo, the sign of cats, of which he has fostered hundreds.
