Dax Shepard watched Lions game on phone during Golden Globes ceremony: '#priorities'
Published in Entertainment News
Dax Shepard may have been at the Golden Globes Sunday night, but his heart was at Ford Field.
The Metro Detroit-raised actor and podcast host attended Sunday's Globes ceremony in Los Angeles, where his wife, fellow Metro Detroiter Kristen Bell, was nominated for her work in the streaming series "Nobody Wants This."
But during the ceremony Shepard's eyes were glued to his phone, where he was watching the Detroit Lions play for the NFC North title and home field advantage during the playoffs. (Shepard also had his phone out and in his hand as he entered the glitzy awards show.)
In a clip posted to Instagram, Bell showed Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford on stage at the ceremony, where they were presenting the award for Best Animated Motion Picture. She then panned to her husband, whose head was down and his hands were folded as he watched the Lions game on his phone, which was positioned between his knees.
She hashtagged the video, "#priorities."
In the video, Shepard looks on nervously, as the Lions were up only 7-6 at the time. They of course went on to win the game, 31-9, along with the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
They will play the winner of next week's matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and the Minnesota Vikings at Ford Field on either Jan. 18 or Jan. 19, depending on how the NFL's schedule shakes out.
As for Bell, she did not win her category, Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy, which went to Jean Smart in "Hacks." But both she and Shepard can celebrate the Lions' victory and their next step on the road to the Super Bowl.
