Jamie Foxx is said to be "recovering" after getting stitches following an apparent altercation at his birthday dinner.
The 57-year-old Academy Award winner was reportedly caught up in a bust-up at Mr Chow in Beverly Hills, California, on Friday (13.12.24) - days after he said in his new Netflix special the illness that left him hospitalised last year and unable to remember a 20-day period from April to May 2023 was due to a "brain bleed that led to a stroke".
A spokesperson for the 'Ray' actor has told People the star was struck with a glass during the birthday celebration.
They said: "Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth.
"He had to get stitches and is recovering. The police were called and the matter is now in law enforcement's hands."
It has been reported by TMZ cops were called to the restaurant around 10 p.m. local time regarding an alleged fight inside, and said Jamie was involved and was not there by the time officers arrived.
Jamie had attended the gathering with his daughters Corinne and Anelise, as well as ex Kristin Grannis, according to the Daily Mail.
Jamie said in his new Netflix show 'Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was...', which was released on 10 December he was hit with a severe headache and asked a friend for an aspirin.
He said after he took the tablet: "I don't remember 20 days."
When he was in hospital, doctors performed surgery on Jamie and even though they couldn't find the source of the brain bleed, they believed it would be possible for him to make a full recovery - though they told his sister it would be difficult.
The cause of the medical emergency is still unknown, with Jamie adding: "It is a mystery. We still don't know exactly what happened to me.
"All I can tell you is that I appreciate every prayer, because I needed every prayer."
