Bob Bryar, a former drummer for rock band My Chemical Romance, has died at age 44, according to reports.

Bryar, who was last seen alive on Nov. 4, was discovered dead inside his Tennessee home just days before Thanksgiving, TMZ reported late Friday night.

Sources told the outlet the rocker’s body was badly decomposed by the time it was finally found on Tuesday. They said animal control was also called to the scene and took custody of two dogs living on the property.

Bryar’s cause of death is still being investigated by the local medical examiner. Authorities said they do not suspect foul play at this time, in part because all of the rocker’s belongings — including his weapons and music equipment — have been accounted for, TMZ reported.

As MCR’s longest-tenured drummer, Bryar began playing with the band in 2004, replacing original drummer Matt Pelissier following the release of the album “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.” He met the group earlier that year, while they were on tour with the Used, for whom he worked as a sound technician.

MCR skyrocketed to fame shortly thereafter with the release of “The Black Parade” in 2006. The album, which included hits like “Welcome to the Black Parade” and “Famous Last Words,” was certified quadruple platinum in the U.S. and ended the year at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart.

Bryar also helped write several songs for their 2010 album, “Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys,” but he exited the band before its release. He worked with several other musical groups in the following years before transitioning into a career in real estate.

My Chemical Romance, founded by New Jersey native Gerard Way, is scheduled to go on a 10-city tour in July 2025, though Bryar was not slated to perform. None of the current band members have yet commented on his death.
