David Grohl has retained a divorce lawyer amid announcing the birth of a child conceived outside of his marriage.

On Tuesday, the Foo Fighters frontman revealed that he recently welcomed a daughter with someone other than his wife of over 21 years, Jordyn Blum.

“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her,” Grohl wrote on Instagram. “I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.”

He concluded the statement: “We’re grateful for your consideration toward all children involved, as we move forward together.”

Grohl didn’t go into any detail about the mother of the newborn, but the former Nirvana drummer retained a divorce attorney prior to making the announcement, according to a source who spoke with People.

Grohl married Blum in August 2003. They share three children together: 18-yea- old Violet, 15-year-old Harper and 10-year-old Ophelia.

It appears Violet and Harper deactivated their Instagram accounts amid the news of their dad’s fourth child and the pages remain inactive as of Wednesday morning.

Grohl and Blum met when she was working at MTV as a producer back in 2001. Shortly after getting married, Grohl told Teen People that Blum was the only person he’d been honest with. “Now I’ve got nothing to hide,” he said at the time. “When you’re not trying to be someone else, being honest is easy.”

The last time the couple was spotted together was in July at Wimbledon.
