The brother of Texas Christian University star wide receiver Jack Bech was among the people killed during the presumed terror attack in New Orleans on New Year’s Eve.

Tiger Bech, 28, was taken to a New Orleans hospital where he died Wednesday morning according to Kim Broussard, the athletic director at Bech’s former high school St. Thomas More Catholic. According to Louisiana TV station KLFY, Bech was kept on life support until his family could arrive.

Bech played football at STM and also played at Princeton where he graduated in 2021 with a degree in finance. Bech worked as a trader at Seaport Global in New York according to his LinkedIn profile. His younger brother released a statement on social media to honor his memory.

“Love you always brother,” Jack Bech said on his social media. “You inspired me everyday now you get to be with me in every moment. I got this family T, don’t worry. This is for us.”

Bech led TCU with 1,034 yards and nine touchdowns this season during a breakout year where Bech emerged as one of the best receivers in the country.

The killer has been identified as 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar. Jabbar drove a truck into a crowd of people on Bourbon Street that left at least 10 people dead and injured nearly three dozen people according to multiple reports. He was killed in a firefight with two police officers.

The presumed terrorist attack also forced officials to postpone the Sugar Bowl between Georgia and Notre Dame for 24 hours.
