An accused porch pirate arrested on Christmas Eve has drawn comparisons to a future Hall-of-Fame quarterback, Massachusetts authorities say.

Dubbed by community members as the “Tom Brady of stealing packages,” according to the Boston Herald and Mass Live, the 34-year-old woman was captured Dec. 24 thanks to an officer with a “sharp eye,” the Boston Police Department said in a news release.

Officers were delivering toys to children in South Boston when a cadet spotted Kerri Flynn, who was wanted on shoplifting and receiving stolen property warrants, police said.

Flynn was described as “a suspected package thief whose escapades had earned her notoriety among concerned locals,” according to a statement from the police department. The locals gave her the moniker comparing her to Brady, the former New England Patriots quarterback widely considered the greatest football player ever.

Flynn was in possession of “two bags stuffed with unopened packages,” according to police.

Officers took Flynn into custody, and she was charged with larceny, police said.

Flynn was allegedly stealing packages over the span of multiple weeks, Boston.com reported. The packages will be returned to the homes where they were initially delivered.

She appeared in court Dec. 26 and was ordered to stay in jail without bail until she is due in court again Jan. 21, according to NBC Boston.

Her attorney, Nancy Hurley, argued Flynn should be released on bail, but prosecutors said the woman has a history of failing to appear for her probationary court appearances, the news outlet reported.
