DENVER — A Delta Airlines flight from Detroit landed safely at Denver International Airport on Monday after a midflight mechanical issue damaged the plane’s nose.
An Airbus A320 was carrying 148 passengers and six crew members when the crew received a notification about a mechanical issue, Delta officials said in a statement Tuesday.
Flight 1648 landed in Denver at 1:38 p.m. and taxied to the gate without incident, according to FlightAware and airline officials.
A social media user shared a picture of the dented nose cone on Monday afternoon.
No passengers or crew reported any injuries.
Delta officials replaced the plane for the rest of its route, and the next flight from Denver to Salt Lake City was delayed by more than 4 hours.
The plane was inspected and repaired overnight, according to Delta.
