CHICAGO — Two people were shot, one critically, Tuesday afternoon at Navy Pier.
Chicago Fire Department crews responded to Navy Pier around 1:30 p.m. and quickly transported two people to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to fire spokesperson Larry Langford. One victim was reported to be in critical condition, according to Langford, who added he did not have the victims’ ages or genders.
A Chicago police spokesperson said that the department’s SWAT unit was en route to Navy Pier, but could provide no additional details.
Navy Pier is considered one of the city’s main tourist attractions downtown, drawing nearly 9 million visitors annually, according to the venue’s website.
