BOSTON — The man accused of raping a child at an immigrant shelter in Rockland has been released on $500 bail ahead of ICE agents who wanted to take him into custody for possible deportation.

A law enforcement source tells the Boston Herald that Cory Alvarez, 26, a Haitian national, is nowhere to be found.

The Plymouth court did not honor a detainer federal immigration officers filed and Alvarez was set free on $500 bail, the Herald was told.

Alvarez is accused of raping a 15-year-old girl who police describe in a report as “disabled,” but did not specify any specific disability. He has pleaded not guilty.

Alvarez and the alleged victim both lived at the Comfort Inn at 850 Hingham St. in Rockland, which has been converted to a migrant housing facility operating under both state and federal programs, according to prosecutors.

The Hingham Court clerk’s office instructed the Herald to email all questions concerning Alvarez. They have not responded yet.

Rockland Police responded to the hotel a little after 7 p.m. on March 13 after a desk clerk there called to report a rape, according to the police report.

“He raped me,” the girl would tell investigators from an examination room at South Shore Hospital, according to the police report. “I asked him to leave me alone but he didn’t stop.”
