Tom Kite rallies to win Boeing Classic

SNOQUALMIE, Wash. (UPI) -- Tom Kite birdied five of the last nine holes and won the Boeing Classic Sunday, his first Champions Tour win in two years.

Kite shot a 6-under-66, finishing the event at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge in Washington at 13-under 202.

Scott Simpson, who led at the outset of the final round, shot a 71 and finished second at 204. John Cook closed with a 67 for third place at 205.

The win was Kite's 10th on the 50-and-over tour. His previous victory came in the same tournament in 2006.

"That sure was fun today," Kite said. "After two years you start wondering if you'll win again. This feels really, really good."

Kite won $255,000.
