COTTAGEVILLE, W.Va. (UPI) -- A West Virginia cat rescue group said a feline named Pretty Boy has appointed himself "midwife" and masseur for a pregnant goat preparing to give birth.

Cat rescue group Operation Fancy Free said in a Facebook post one of its rescued felines, an orange and white long-haired cat named Pretty Boy, has refused to leave the side of a pregnant goat named Copper ever since she was confined to a stall for the pending birth.

The group posted a video of Pretty Boy giving Copper a prenatal massage in the birthing stall.

"Pretty Boy is now the new age goat midwife/masseur," the Facebook post said.

"Who says kitties can't be multifaceted. Copper the goat is due to deliver babies any time now. Pretty Boy thinks he's a midwife and is massaging Copper through her contractions trying to help Copper have her babies. Lol. Pretty Boy has been sleeping with, sitting on and massaging Copper since Copper was confined to a stall to prepare for her deliveries."

The rescue group said Sunday that Copper was still undergoing "false labor" contractions and hadn't entered hard labor yet. The post said Pretty Boy remains by the pregnant goat's side, but officials are planning to take precautions during and after the birth to make sure Copper doesn't become over-protective of her young and potentially injure the feline.
