JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (UPI) -- A Jimmy John's sandwich shop in Florida said workers were fired after a video posted on Snapchat showed them using uncooked bread dough as a jump rope.

A manager at the Jimmy John's restaurant at River City Marketplace in Jacksonville said the workers were fired after the Snapchat video spread online and led to a Tuesday visit from state inspectors.

The dough can be seen touching the ground repeatedly in the video, but the restaurant said the dough was left over and was discarded after the video was recorded.

Franchise owners James and Rebecca Williams issued a statement:

"Our investigation confirmed the dough used in the video was immediately discarded after the incident, however we do not condone this behavior from our employees and appropriate action has been taken to prevent this from ever happening again. We have been serving the community at this site for more than four years and will continue to provide only the highest quality and freshest product to our customers."

An inspector with the Florida Division of Hotels and Restaurants cited the location for 17 violations, including one marked high priority -- a food cooler was 12 degrees over the specified 41-degree temperature.
