TORONTO (UPI) -- Home Depot stores in Canada will no longer sell a Halloween decoration depicting a "peeping Tom" following a complaint.

The $30 "Scary Peeper Creeper" decoration depicts a foot-long image of a hooded man's life-like face appearing to peer into a window.

According to the product overview, the hanging window prop is "perfect for scaring friends and family" and can be placed facing outward to scare trick-or-treaters or inward to scare party guests.

Canadian teacher Breanne Hunt-Wells complained to CBC news after seeing the decoration in a Home Depot store saying it is "inappropriate and makes light of a real-life, sinister issue that women face in our society."

"I fail to see the humor in it," she said. It makes light of a very serious crime. Voyeurism is a crime in Canada.

Home Depot agreed to remove the product from its stores after the CBC relayed Hunt-Wells' objection.

"We agree that this is not in line with our core values, and when we heard, took immediate action and are currently in the process of removing this product from our assortment," Home Depot spokeswoman Emily DiCarlo said. We've reached out to advise the customer of our actions and apologize. We're sorry for any offense that was caused.
