MUJIMBA, Australia (UPI) -- An Australian snake catcher who ensnared a red-bellied black snake that got into a scuffle with a cat shared a video showing how venomous snakes are released.

Max Jackson of Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 said in a video posted to Facebook that he captured the red-bellied black snake in Mujimba after residents found their cat hissing threateningly at the serpent.

The cat was pulled inside by its owners and was not injured, Jackson said.

"A lucky escape for both parties!" he wrote in the post.

Jackson used a pole and his hands to remove the snake from the sack it was stored in post-capture.

The "pretty placid" snake was released in a wooded area filled with frogs, a food of choice for the venomous animals.
