MANLY, Australia (UPI) -- An Australian couple struggling to remove a massive huntsman spider from their bedroom chronicled their attempt on video.

The video, posted to YouTube by user Manly Beach Running Club, features footage shot by Joe Ward as he and his wife, Emma, attempt to remove the large spider from the wall near their bed.

Ward says in the video that he expects the spider to scuttle away and dodge his wife's attempt to catch it with a jar, causing them to have to "sleep on the couch."

The large but non-venomous spider falls from the wall when Emma tries to catch it with the jar, leaving the couple searching for the arachnid's whereabouts.

Emma finds the spider "just hanging out" behind a nightstand and tries to use a piece of paper to get it to a more reachable location.

Emma Ward tries to convince her husband that the spider just wants to stay behind the stand, but Joe brands that plan "unacceptable."

The couple eventually are able to pull the nightstand out of the wall and catch the spider in the jar, but it jumps out before they can put a lid on it.

A second attempt is more successful and Emma is able to trap the spider in the jar.

The couple then release the spider outside.

"We're good vegans," Joe says.
