This 1923 study by T.R. Dawson is an example of The Pendulum, and was brought to my attention in an article by W.H. Cozens in British Chess Magazine in 2013. It’s actually a mating position (9 moves at most) and the hint is in the descriptive name for it.

Solution:

1.Ra4 Ke8 2.Rh4 Re5+ 3.Kd2 Kd8 4.Ra4 Rd5+ 5.Ke3 Ke8 6.Rh4 Re5+ 7.Kd4 with mate in two no matter what.
